Dr Geeta Malkan Billa is working as consultant Hepatologist (Liver specialist), liver transplant physician and Gastroenterologist at Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital since March 2013 After having completed her initial training in Gastroenterology, Dr Geeta Billa perused her primary interest in hepatology (Liver diseases) and Liver transplantation. She completed 2 year fellowship program in University of Toronto –Toronto General Hospital, one of the premier institute in North America. After returning to India she has been a consultant at foremost institutes in Mumbai: Bombay hospital, Fortis and Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital before joining as a consultant at Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital. To her credit are large number of publications and presentations in national and international peer reviewed journals. Her areas of interest include Viral Hepatitis B and C, alcoholic and Non- alcoholic fatty liver disease and liver cancers. Her expertise includes taking care of cirrhosis and end stage liver disease patients and liver transplant patients. In addition to this professional commitment, academics and teaching has always received a priority and she was involved in post graduate gastroenterology teaching program at Nair hospital and at KEM hospital for many years.
